Named by Golf Digest Magazine in 2000 as one of the Ten Best New Private Courses in the US.

Site of the 2011 USGA Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship

Shadow Hawk, in the Houston suburb of Richmond, Texas, was site of the recent 2005 USGA U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship. Although this was the first national championship held at the facility, the club has also been the qualifying site for a number of other USGA championshps including the U.S. Open.

The course features a classic design and is highlighted by a 70-acre lake and large pecan trees throughout. The gently-rolling fairways, with their generous landing areas, play to small, subtly-undulating, elevated greens. The finishing hole, a 540-yards, par 5, is the jewel of the layout. With a lake running from tee to green, as well as huge target bunkers, this dogleg right offers a high risk-reward factor.
